Meeting Companies House Identity Requirements (from November 2025)
Mandatory Identity Verification β Important Update
From 18 November 2025, Companies House will introduce mandatory identity verification for:
-
Company directors
-
People with Significant Control (PSCs)
-
Anyone filing information on behalf of a company
These measures form part of a wider government initiative to enhance corporate transparency and tackle economic crime.
What This Means for You
If you are an existing customer, you may have already completed identity checks during your company formation. However, previous checks may not meet the new Companies House requirements.
To ensure full compliance, we strongly recommend that all company officers complete a new identity verification with us. This will help prevent any disruption to your ability to:
-
Form new companies
-
Appoint directors or PSCs to an existing company
-
File confirmation statements or other statutory updates
How the New Process Works
β Complete the New ID Check
You can complete the identity verification through our secure online portal. If any documents or information are missing, our team will support you throughout the process.
π€ Submission to Companies House
As a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), we will submit your verified identity details directly to Companies House once all checks are successfully completed.
π Receive Your Unique Personal Code
After verification, Companies House will issue a unique personal code to the verified individual.
This code will be required to:
-
Register a new company
-
Be appointed as a director or PSC
-
File confirmation statements or act on behalf of a company at Companies House
