A Person of Significant Control (PSC) is an individual who meets one or more of the following criteria:
Holds 25% or more of the company’s shares
Holds 25% or more of the voting rights
Has the right to appoint or remove the majority of board directors

A PSC (Person with Significant Control) register is an internal record that all UK limited companies are required to maintain. It must be kept up to date and stored within your company records. The register allows the UK government to see who truly owns or controls a company.
The register should include basic information about each PSC, such as their names, addresses, and the reason they are considered a PSC—whether they hold more than a certain percentage of shares, voting rights, or have the ability to appoint or remove directors.
For each PSC, you must record the following details:
Full name
Date of birth
Service address
Residential address (not publicly visible)
Country of residence
Nationality
Date the person became registrable
Nature of their control
If there is an error, change, or a PSC is added or removed, the company must update its PSC register immediately.
With our PSC Online Register, you can easily amend details by logging into your account and accessing the PSC section on your company details page. Additionally, the company must update Companies House during the next Confirmation Statement filing.
No. The PSC register is an internal requirement and must be kept in your company records. It should be available for inspection at your company’s Registered Office address.
