Can I Set Up a UK Limited Company if I Live Outside the UK and I’m Not a UK National?

Yes, you can form a UK limited company even if you live outside the UK and are not a UK national.

Company directors and shareholders can be of any nationality and may live anywhere in the world. Directors must be at least 16 years old to be appointed as an officer of a UK company.

However, every UK limited company is legally required to have a UK Registered Office address.

What If I Don’t Have a UK Address for the Registered Office?

If you do not have a UK address, our International Formation Package includes a Registered Office service.

This allows you to use our London address as your company’s official Registered Office. Any official government or statutory mail received on your behalf is scanned and emailed to you promptly, ensuring there are no delays.

Please note: Standard business and personal mail forwarding is not included in the renewal and can be added separately.

How Will I Receive My Incorporation Documents?

Once your company has been successfully incorporated, you can request your documents to be sent by international tracked mail.

Simply confirm your delivery address by emailing:

We will post your incorporation documents to you, regardless of your location.

Do I Need to Provide ID?

Yes. Identity verification is required for:

  • The account holder

  • Company directors

  • People with Significant Control (PSCs)

This is in line with legislation aimed at ensuring transparency and verifying individuals who have significant influence or control over a company.

Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, Companies House enforces identity verification for all company officers. All required individuals must be ID verified before any application or filing is submitted to Companies House.

What ID Do I Need to Provide?
